Connect a patient with your code

Give a patient your personal connect code so they can join and sign your data-sharing agreement in the app, in one step, without waiting on an email.

Every clinician has a personal connect code. A patient enters it in the Pippa app to connect with you and sign your data-sharing agreement in one step, right there in the app. No emailed link, no waiting. They then appear on your roster with the agreement already signed.

This is the fastest way to add a patient. You can still add a patient by email when you prefer to send the agreement yourself.

Set up your code once

Open the roster and find the Your connect code card at the top.

Sign the agreement once
The first time, you review and sign the standard Pippa data-sharing agreement, drawing your signature and taking a photo. You do this a single time, not once per patient.
Get your code
Pippa generates a code like NGHS-K7P2QM4R. Copy it, or print the card to hand out.
Share the link or the code
The card also gives you a shareable link like getpippa.app/invite_NGHS-K7P2QM4R. Send that to a patient and it opens a page showing the code with app download links, so they don't have to type anything. You can also just give them the code directly.
Signing once covers every patient who uses your code

Your signature and photo are captured a single time and reused for each consent a patient signs against your code. The audit record for each patient still captures the exact agreement text and both signatures, the same as the email flow.

What the patient does

In the Pippa app the patient goes to Settings → Data sharing → Have a code from your provider?, enters your code, reviews the agreement, and signs it with their name, signature, and a photo. As soon as they sign, you can see their data.

If the patient is under 18 and their account was set up by a guardian, the app does not let the teen sign. Instead the agreement is emailed to their guardian to approve, and the patient connects once the guardian signs.

Only you get access

A connect code creates a per-agreement link between you and that one patient. It does not share their data with anyone else at your institution. Another clinician who wants to see the same patient needs the patient to enter their code and sign a separate agreement. This is the same per-clinician consent model used everywhere else in Pippa.

Rotating or turning off your code

New code
Generating a new code retires the old one immediately. Patients already connected stay connected.
Turn off
Turning your code off stops any new patient from using it. You can turn it back on later.
Re-sign
If Pippa updates the agreement wording, you will be prompted to re-sign before your code works again. Rotating a code on its own never requires re-signing.
Revoking access

A patient can stop sharing at any time from Settings, and you can remove a patient from your roster. Either one ends your access right away, exactly as with an emailed agreement.
