Documentation refresh: the current apps and dashboard

DashboardiOSAndroid
  • The guides now explain Pippa AI, History, and Customizations, plus the Food Log/Logs and Notes/Clinical Notes labels. A new history guide explains the 30, 90, and 180-day views.
  • New guides cover creating and assigning clinic surveys, app languages, and patient-controlled journal sharing. Survey answers are shown per question without a score or automatic alert band.
  • The weight guide now explains optional app-open prompts and custom intervals, and correctly states that patients see the number while typing. This is a documentation review date, not an app-store release announcement; availability depends on the version in use.

Water tracking

  • Patients now have a hydration bar at the top of their food log: minus, plus, and a row of droplets that fill as they drink. You set the daily goal (8 cups by default) on the new Water card on their overview.
  • Both directions feed your concerns, ranked differently on purpose. Sustained very high intake surfaces as possible water loading, which is a compensatory behavior; chronic low intake is informational only.
  • The app never tells the patient their intake looks high. Flagging it in-app would teach them to log less rather than drink less, so raising it is a conversation you have to start.

Encouragement in your own words

  • A new Encouragement from you card lets you write short lines that Pippa says in her speech bubble right after your patient logs a meal, when reassurance tends to land hardest.
  • Your lines pool with the app's own and with anything the patient wrote themselves; editing yours never overwrites theirs. They see your lines in Settings, marked as coming from their care team.

More nutrients to choose from

  • Nutrition visibility now covers thirteen nutrients instead of five, grouped into macros, sugars, minerals and vitamins. Carbs and fat are selectable for the first time, alongside saturated fat, sugar, added sugar, sodium, potassium and iron.
  • Picking fewer still lands better than picking many. The longer list is there to match the prescription you actually have, not to be used in full.
  • Per-meal corrections now cover whatever you switched on, not just the four macros.

Snacks and custom meal names in onboarding

  • New patients now set up all six meal-plan slots during onboarding, not just breakfast, lunch and dinner. They can switch snacks on and rename any slot to what they actually call it.
  • So a patient may arrive with a plan already shaped around their real day. Open the meal plan editor before assuming the defaults.

Colors, and swiping between log panes

  • Patients can switch the app from pink to one of six light pastels in Settings. Worth trying with a client who says the app doesn't feel like it's for them before concluding the tool is a bad fit.
  • The food log's Write, Photo and Check-in panes can now be swiped between as well as tapped, which is easier to describe over a call.

Clinicians can use the patient app

  • Counsellors and clinic admins can now sign into the patient app with their dashboard email and password and get the full experience, handy for learning the app or demoing a flow in session.
  • Your app account is private and separate: you never appear on the roster, never use a member seat, and entering your clinic's join code does nothing for staff accounts.

Send a patient a small gift

  • A new Send a gift card on a patient's dashboard lets you send a few in-app coins with a short message. The patient gets a gentle notification and opens it like a present in the app, with your note inside.
  • Keep it a kindness, not a reward: tying coins to eating, weight, or compliance turns them into score-keeping, which the app carefully avoids.

Schedule reminders for a patient

  • A new Reminders card on a patient's dashboard lets you schedule a gentle notification for them: one-time, daily, or weekly, with a title and an optional short message.
  • Reminders fire in the patient's own timezone, and one-time ones arrive even if the app is closed. You can turn any reminder off or delete it, up to 20 per patient.
  • The wording is yours to write, so keep it supportive and free of numbers, goals, or streaks. See The dashboard → Reminders for details.

Import a meal photo you already took

  • Logging a meal now offers "Choose from library" alongside the camera, so a patient can add a meal they forgot to log using a photo from their camera roll.
  • Pippa reads the photo's original capture time and pre-fills it, and the patient can nudge the time; the "describe it" option gained the same editable time.

A gentle second chance at the post-meal check-in

  • If a patient logs a new meal while an earlier one from the last few hours still has no check-in, the app quietly offers to catch up on it, right on the log page and with that meal's photo.
  • It only appears when you have the post-meal check-in turned on, only for a recent meal, and at most once per meal, so it nudges without nagging.

Undo an accidental skip

  • Tapping a meal slot a patient marked "skipped" now offers to undo it, returning the slot to its open state, in case the skip was a slip of the finger.

Correct a meal's calories from the dashboard

Dashboard
  • You can now adjust a logged meal's calorie estimate when the automatic guess looks off. Your correction only affects your dashboard and analytics, the patient never sees it.
  • Corrected meals show the original estimate crossed out next to your number, with a small "edited" marker so you know at a glance which figures you changed.

Optional purge check-in after a meal

  • You can now turn on a gentle follow-up question that asks the patient, after a meal, whether they acted on an urge to get rid of what they ate. It is off by default and set per patient.
  • The question is worded as self-care, never clinical, and uses no method names. Answers are yes, no, or "rather not say", and a "yes" quietly offers the patient coping tools.
  • When a patient answers, you see it as a clear signal on their meal card in the dashboard.

All meal check-in signals on one card

Dashboard
  • The meal card in the dashboard now shows every check-in signal at a glance without expanding it: fullness, whether it matched the plan, any urges, the purge answer, and which coping tools they used.
  • Expanding a meal is now just for your review and notes, so daily scanning is faster.

Your comment sits at the top of a meal

  • When you leave a note on a patient's meal, it now appears at the very top of the meal detail, above the photo, so the patient sees your words first.

Coping-skill suggestions in the chat

  • When a patient seems distressed while chatting with Pippa, the chat can now offer a tappable suggestion like "breathe with me" or "grounding" that opens a short guided exercise.
  • In a genuine crisis the chat still leads with hotline resources first and never replaces them with an exercise.

Quieter, less score-like rewards

  • We rebalanced the in-app coins so they feel like small surprises rather than points to chase. The app never explains why a coin was given, which keeps rewards from turning into score-keeping.
  • Patients now get a quiet coin just for showing up and logging, so simply participating is recognized, not only meeting a goal.

App updates in the stores

iOSAndroid
  • iOS updated to version 2.0.5 and Android to version 1.0.6. These carry the changes above. Ask patients to update if their app looks out of date.
